Outdoor Lighting – New Install
Enhance the safety of your home or business with leased outdoor lighting. DES offers three dusk-to-dawn LED fixtures installed on existing or added DES service poles.
Cost: Light and pole rental charges are added to your monthly electric bill. The monthly rates change by a few cents as TVA adjusts our electric rates each month. Some new installations may be subject to construction fees to be paid before installation. Please contact DES for current rates.
Process: Residential property owner or business owner/tenant must sign a two-year Application-Contract and pay a $25 non-refundable application fee. When the contract term expires, outdoor lights continue billing on a month to month basis until customer requests light be turned off or removed.
After receiving the completed Application-Contract and $25 application fee, DES will schedule a meeting at the property with you or your agent to determine the most effective location(s) and light model(s) to be installed. Outdoor light installations are typically completed within one to four weeks.

Outdoor Lighting – Maintenance
DES takes care of normal maintenance on damaged or malfunctioning lights. When requesting outdoor light repairs, please provide your contact information and details on the light location (any ID#s on the pole), and describe if the light is broken, does not come on at all, only works occasionally, or stays on all day.
