Starting, stopping, or transferring service can usually be done by the following business day after the application of service is completed or following a request to stop or transfer service.

DES customers may arrange for service by:

Application Requirements

Our Application for Electric Service Requires (PDF) requires your:

The signing of the application must be witnessed and notarized by a notary public or it must be signed in our office in the presence of one of our Customer Service Representatives in order to ensure the protection and verification of every DES customer.

In addition to a notarized application, the following items are required in order to apply for a new residential service:

The above-listed documentation, as well as the application for service (signed and notarized), must be received by our office prior to service being turned on for the new applicant.
There is a non-refundable $15 connection fee for the new service. This fee will appear on your first bill.
